Khairul Fahmi Che Mat Bio

Khairul Fahmi Che Mat (born 7 January 1989 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan) is a Malaysian goalkeeper currently playing for Kelantan FA in Malaysia Super League and the Malaysia national football team. He is also a member of Malaysia national, Malaysia U-23 and former Malaysia U-20 squad.

Khairul started playing for the Kelantan FA President's Cup Team in 2006. He was the team's main goalkeeper and helped Kelantan to reach the finals in the 2006-07 President Cup Malaysia. However, Kelantan later lost by penalties. Khairul was later chosen to be in the Harimau Muda team for the 2008 Premier League season, alongside Ahmad Fakri Saarani. After only playing for one year with Harimau Muda, he returned to Kelantan.

Khairul was promoted into the senior team in 2009 after playing for the President Cup Team for 5 years.

In 2010, he was part of the Kelantan's 2010 Malaysia Cup winning team. He also won The Best Young Player and Best Goalkeeper awards at the 2010 Anugerah Bola Sepak Kebangsaan 100Plus-FAM.

Khairul first appearance for Malaysia under-23 was at the Football at the 2010 Asian Games.

In November 2010, Khairul was called up to the Malaysia national squad by coach K. Rajagopal for the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup. Khairul kept a cleansheet against Thailand on a 0-0 draw. Khairul also kept a cleansheet against Vietnam twice in the semi finals. In the first leg of the finals, Khairul played well against the Indonesians. The match ended a 3-0 win to Malaysia, thus earning another clean sheet to Khairul. In the second leg of the finals held in Indonesia, Khairul gave another outstanding performance by making numerous saves including a brilliant penalty save early in the match. The save proved to be a pivotal moment in the match in which Malaysia scored an away goal. Malaysia won on 4-2 aggregate and lifted the 2010 AFF Suzuki Cup title for the first time.

Luis Suárez Bio

It would be fair to say that 2010 was the year that launched Luis Suarez into world superstardom, as well as global infamy. In fact, the year perfectly encapsulated the mix of attacking excellence and controversy that makes up one of Europe's most in-demand and talked-about forwards.

After finishing the 2009-10 season with a remarkable tally of 49 goals in 48 games in all competitions for Ajax, winning the Dutch Cup in the process, Suarez travelled to South Africa to contest the World Cup finals. In the quarter-finals against Ghana, Suarez blocked a goal-bound effort in the final minute of extra-time, earning a red card and conceding a penalty in the process. However, Asamoah Gyan missed from 12 yards and Uruguay prevailed in the subsequent shoot-out, leading Suarez to be castigated by many for his dastardly role in the elimination of Africa's final competitors.

His magnetic attraction to negative PR was displayed once again in November 2010 when he was banned for seven games for biting PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal. However, that incident should not cloud what has been a wildly successful career in De Eredivisie ever since his move from Nacional in 2006, when he left the Uruguayan club having won the league in his debut season in the first team.

It was Groningen who brought him to the Netherlands for around €800,000 and after scoring ten goals in 29 games in his first season in the country, Ajax paid €7.5 million to bring him to Amsterdam. Prior to the start of the 2010-11 season he had repaid them handsomely with 74 goals in 97 league appearances, leading to speculation regarding a move to one of Europe's bigger clubs, and specifically Liverpool; a club he eventually agreed to join in the January transfer window.

Strengths: Technically excellent and with an unerring finish, this deadly striker is a threat from long range, in the box or in the air. He is also versatile and likes to attack from wide positions, making him an elusive presence.

Weaknesses: Disciplinary issues have frequently threatened to undermine Suarez and biting aside, he has shown a worrying propensity to pick up yellow cards.

Career high: A controversial choice, perhaps, but Suarez made himself into a national hero when handballing to deny Ghana a last-gasp goal in the 2010 World Cup quarter-final. Though he became an international villain, Suarez was carried on the shoulders of his team-mates after their subsequent shoot-out victory in Johannesburg.

Career low: The forward was dubbed the "Cannibal of Ajax" by De Telegraaf and incurred a seven-game ban in November 2010 after biting Bakkal on the shoulder.

Style: Evasive, clever, deadly. A prolific forward.

Quotes: "The 'Hand Of God' now belongs to me. I did it so that my team-mates could win the penalty shoot-out. When I saw Gyan miss the penalty it was a great joy". Luis Suarez, July 2010.

Trivia: Suarez left his home town of Salto at the age of only 11 when moving around 500km to join the ranks of Montevideo-based club Nacional.

Andrew Carroll Bio

One of England's brightest young talents, Carroll made a name for himself in the 2010-11 season when, despite a number of off-pitch incidents, he elevated himself among the top strikers in the Premier League, securing a record-breaking move to Liverpool on a dramatic final day of the 2011 January transfer window.

First appearing as a late substitute for Newcastle at the age of just 17 years and 300 days, Carroll became the youngest ever player to represent the club in Europe, in a match against Palermo in November 2006. After being awarded the 'Wor Jackie Milburn Trophy' in 2007, for being the brightest rising star of North-East football, Carroll spent an unsuccessful six month loan spell at Preston North End, managing just one Championship goal in 11 appearances.

Upon his return to Newcastle though, his quality began to show, and the departure of several key attacking players following the club's relegation to the Championship in 2009, proved to be a blessing in disguise for the striker. Scoring 17 goals in 39 appearances, Carroll formed a solid partnership with Peter Lovernkrands, with the duo scoring more than half of the club's goals in the season as they were promoted to the Premier League at the first attempt, as champions.

Back in the top flight, Carroll was relishing the chance to test himself against the best and continued his prolific scoring form from the previous season, ensuring that he was the Premier League's leading English striker for much of the season. High-profile goals against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool saw his star continue to rise and he was linked with a big-money move away from St James' Park. Sure enough, after Liverpool sold Fernando Torres for £50 million, they dug deep to bring Carroll to Anfield for £35 million on January 31, 2011, making him the most expensive English footballer of all time.

His career has, however, been blighted by a number of negative off the field incidents, as he has twice been in court charged with assault. But if he keeps his focus on the pitch, he could be one of the best.

Strengths: A true No. 9, Carroll has the strength and power to match it with the very best defenders in the Premier League. His outstanding heading ability, coupled with a strong work ethic, make him a handful for any opposition.

Weaknesses: His temperament off the pitch is the main issue, while his inexperience also leads him to make the odd rash decision.

Career high: Scoring an exceptional hat-trick in a 6-0 win over Aston Villa, marking the perfect return to the Premier League for Newcastle on August 22, 2010; it was one of a number of impressive displays that led to his first England cap against France in November.

Career low: Amongst the number of off the field incidents Carroll has been involved in, the most embarrassing from a playing perspective would have to be being sent home whilst on international duty for the England Under-19 side, after breaking a curfew during preparation for a match against Romania U-19.

Style: Powerful, strong and confident, a potential star of the future.

Quotes: "As for Carroll, he is somebody with a genuine chance of emulating Alan Shearer, but history tells you that guys who continually find themselves on the front page never turn into anything." Former Liverpool captain Alan Hansen, November 2010.

Trivia: Part of Carroll's bail conditions for one court appearance was that he was forced to live with club captain Kevin Nolan, who put him on an 11pm bedtime.
