French youth international Plessis signed for Liverpool from Olympique Lyonnais on the last day of the transfer window in August 2007.
He signed a three-year deal and initially played for the reserve team before he made an unexpected senior debut at the Emirates on April 5, 2008.
Despite breaking into the first team the tall, strong midfielder was a key player as Liverpool's reserves won the league title in 2007/08.
Plessis also reached the semi-finals of the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship along with Reds team-mate David N'Gog.
